Heatwave Warning
Behind The Lyrics
Heatwave Warning was born out of our deep frustration and concern over the accelerating climate crisis. We wrote this song to capture the immediate and devastating effects of global warming, from melting ice caps to raging wildfires and rising sea levels. Each line reflects our alarm at the worsening state of our planet and the apathy that seems to accompany it.
The chorus, Heatwave warning, sound the alarm is our urgent call to action. It represents the ticking clock of climate change, urging everyone to recognise the severity of the situation before it's too late. The repeated line, Will they wake before it's too late, or leave us all to a burning fate? is a direct challenge to those in power, questioning their commitment to meaningful change.
In the verses, we highlight the chaos of floods and droughts and the broken promises of leaders who set targets but fail to meet them. This song is a reflection of the anger and helplessness many of us feel as we witness the planet's deterioration.
The final verse is a rallying cry: Rise up now, let's take a stand, save the future, protect our land. We believe it's our responsibility to inspire and motivate others to act, to protect our planet before it's irreversibly damaged. Heatwave Warning is a plea for awareness and action in the face of a global emergency.
The Lyrics
Ice caps melting, cities on fire.
Storms are rising, oceans climb higher.
Earth is crying, but no one listens,
Hopes fade while disaster glistens.
Heatwave warning, sound the alarm,
Tick-tock ticking, heading for harm.
Will they wake before it's too late,
Or leave us all to a burning fate?
Will they wake before it's too late,
Or leave us all to a burning fate?
Floods and droughts, chaos reigns,
Broken promises, no one explains.
Targets set, then quickly broken,
Leaving the planet choked and frozen.
Heatwave warning, sound the alarm,
Tick-tock ticking, heading for harm.
Will they wake before it's too late,
Or leave us all to a burning fate?
Will they wake before it's too late,
Or leave us all to a burning fate?
Rise up now, let's take a stand,
Save the future, protect our land.
It’s our time to make it right,
Before heatwaves turn endless night.
Ice caps melting, cities on fire,
Storms are rising, oceans climb higher.
Earth is crying, but no one listens,
Leaving the planet choked and frozen.
Heatwave warning, sound the alarm,
Tick-tock ticking, heading for harm.
Peak floods and droughts, chaos reigns,
Broken promises, no one explains.
